PROTECTING WHAT WE’VE BUILT — FIGHTING FOR WHAT WE DESERVE

Brothers and Sisters,

Every step of this bargaining process matters. Right now, your committee is doing the critical, detailed work of reviewing each article with a fine-toothed comb. Why? Because words matter. We are making sure that no protections are stripped, no rights are watered down, and no “mistakes” slip through that could hurt us down the road. This contract is built word by word, and we are guarding every inch of it.

We’ve already caught multiple company “errors”, some that could’ve easily gone unnoticed if we weren’t paying close attention. But we’re not here to rubber-stamp anything. We’re here to fight for a contract that reflects our values, our work, and our future.

And now, we move into the phase that truly defines this fight:
It’s time to talk about OUR WORTH.

We are diving deep into the data from the RFIs (Requests for Information) we’ve sent to the company. These numbers will be the foundation of our economic proposals, but data alone isn’t enough. We need your voice.

That’s why we will be handing out a new membership survey focused specifically on key economic issues. It has been six months since the last one, and we must have the most up-to-date understanding of the membership’s current priorities.

This is your opportunity to make your voice heard on the economic issues that matter most—Ending the tier system, wages, retiree insurance, healthcare, and pensions. Your input will help us focus our efforts where they matter most.

No distractions. No concessions. Just a contract that reflects your value and lifts us all.

The Bargaining Committee may be at the table—but YOU are the power behind it. Your unity, your voice, and your strength are what give us the leverage to win. Your voice truly matters!

Keep showing up in red. Keep standing together. Keep speaking up. Keep reminding them that we’re not just individuals — we are a collective force. A force that’s tired of being mistreated, overlooked, underpaid, and underappreciated.

In Solidarity,
Your UAW Local 5 Bargaining Committee
