Negotiations Status

The Bargaining Committee did not meet with the Company for negotiations this week. As previously communicated, we submitted an extensive Request for Information (RFI) to the Company. At this time, we are still awaiting responses to several key items. These responses are essential for the Committee to develop a comprehensive and informed economic proposal in good faith.

In the absence of continued bargaining sessions, the Committee is using this time to update the membership on current business activity relevant to our work.

Business Activity Update

As of July 22, 2025, several contracts have been awarded to AM General related to the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) and Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) programs. These awards reflect continued production and modernization efforts.

HMMWV Program:

  • Israel Ministry of Defense Contract (July 2025):
AM General secured a contract to supply 600 HMMWVs to the IDF Ground Forces for approximately $150 million, with a potential for an additional 600 units. Deliveries are expected later in 2025 and will include vehicles and spare parts for various battlefield roles.
  • U.S. Contracts – 2025–2026:
350 HMMWVs for the Army National Guard
199 HMMWVs for the Army Reserves
  • DLA HMMWV Parts Contracts:
AM General holds two potential five-year contracts totaling $458 million from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) for HMMWV parts.
    • The DLA contract remains active through May 22, 2030, using fiscal year 2025–2030 defense working capital funds.
    • This agreement involves 14 contractors and supports the continued maintenance and modernization of the HMMWV fleet.

JLTV Program:

  • In February 2023, AM General was awarded a follow-on production contract for the JLTV A2 variant valued at over $8 billion.
    • The contract spans 10 years (5 base years + 5 option years).
    • It includes up to 20,682 JLTVs and 9,883 trailers for the U.S. military and foreign sales.
    • The JLTV A2 features modern enhancements, including GPS traceability, automated guidance systems, and improved fuel efficiency.
  • Future Outlook:
While AM General will continue fulfilling current JLTV contract obligations through 2027, the U.S. Army has announced it will discontinue future JLTV procurement in favor of other modernization priorities.

These contract awards indicate a continued demand for the HMMWV platform and a defined production timeline for the JLTV program. The Bargaining Committee will monitor these developments closely and keep the membership informed on any updates that may affect job security, workload, or plant operations.
